Archiving Policy
Archiving Policy and Long-Term Open Access Preservation
The scientific journal “Pedagogical Discourse” ensures reliable archiving and long-term preservation of published materials in accordance with the principles of open access, transparency, and sustainable availability of scholarly content.
Digital Platform and Primary Storage
The journal is hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) content management system, which provides structured storage, management, and dissemination of all published materials. All articles are published on the journal’s official website and systematically archived by issues. Each article and issue is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring persistent identification, stable linking, and long-term accessibility.
Institutional Repository and External Archiving
To ensure redundancy and additional preservation guarantees, all published articles are also deposited in the repository of the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. The editorial board submits materials to the library, which independently hosts and maintains them on its official platform under the journal’s dedicated page. This dual archiving model reduces the risk of data loss and enhances the visibility and accessibility of publications.
Technical Means of Preservation
The journal employs the following technical measures to ensure long-term preservation:
- server-side data storage with regular backups provided by the OJS platform;
- structured archiving by issues and metadata indexing;
- DOI-based persistent access to publications;
- duplication of content in an external institutional repository.
Open Access and Availability Guarantees
The journal adheres to an open access policy, ensuring free and unrestricted access to all published materials without embargo periods. Long-term accessibility is supported through:
- permanent hosting on the journal’s official website;
- parallel storage in a national-level institutional repository;
- use of internationally recognized identification standards (DOI).
These measures collectively ensure the integrity, preservation, and continuous availability of scholarly content for the academic community and the public.
