AI Usage Policy
Requirements for the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Manuscript Preparation
The use of artificial intelligence tools must comply with the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and responsibility. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including generative AI systems, may be used by authors solely as auxiliary tools in the preparation of manuscripts, in particular for:
- improving the linguistic quality of the text (grammar, style, translation);
- searching, collecting, and conducting preliminary analysis of sources (provided this is combined with traditional source-search methods);
- technical editing, formatting, or structuring of the text;
- preliminary analysis or processing of data (subject to subsequent verification of results by the author);
- visualization or presentation of research results;
- checking compliance of the manuscript with writing and formatting requirements.
At the same time, authors are required to independently verify the accuracy, reliability, and correctness of all results obtained using AI.
If AI technologies were used during manuscript preparation, authors must:
- clearly indicate this in the manuscript in the Methods section;
- specify the name of the tool, its version, and its developer;
- describe the purpose for which the tool was used (e.g., text editing, data analysis, visualization of results, etc.);
- provide the prompt based on which the AI generated the result;
- confirm that all results were verified by the authors.
The use of AI for basic text editor functions (such as spell-checking, grammar correction, etc.) does not require special disclosure.
The use of AI is prohibited for the fabrication or falsification of data; generation of fictitious sources or references; undisclosed creation of substantial parts of the manuscript; or generation of scientific results and conclusions without verification by the researcher.
Artificial intelligence technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of an article, as they cannot assume responsibility for the content of the publication, meet authorship criteria, or declare conflicts of interest.
Undisclosed or unethical use of AI may be considered a violation of academic integrity and may serve as grounds for rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the publication.
