Abstract

In the article the actual psychological problem especially of variability thinking in students of humanities and engineering specialties during training is studied. Based on the theoretical analysis it is confirmed that the development of variability of thinking is studied in psychology as an important component of thinking activity, but the basic researches were conducted in the early stages of ontogeny. The methodical base is poorly designed. The authors offer a set of techniques for diagnosing features of the studied parameters in the later stages of ontogeny. These empirical data that reveal the basic characteristics of variability thinking (productivity, flexibility, complexity) of the students surveyed specialties.
